Carolyn is the President of Lifetime Wealth Planning and Management, LLC and is primarily responsible for the development of investment policy and Portfolio management. Carolyn honed her financial planning and investment management skills as an associate of Bernhardt Wealth Management, Inc. for six years prior to founding Lifetime Wealth Planning and Management, LLC in 2004. She has over 12 years of experience in financial planning and portfolio management. Carolyn is also an experienced presenter and lecturer and has presented at national forums, training sessions and workshops including a Regional NAPFA conference. Carolyn has been quoted in a number of financial and consumer publications including the Washington Post, Kiplinger's Personal Finance, Smart Money, Good Housekeeping, the Wall Street Journal and Consumer Reports Money Guide. Most recently she was interviewed on News Channel 8 on how to avoid becoming a victim of a financial fraudster.

Carolyn graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA degree in Geology from Humboldt State University (CA) where she pursued postgraduate studies in the fields of Environmental Engineering and Watershed Management. After her career change in 1997, she completed coursework in Financial Planning from the American College and obtained the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation in 2001. Carolyn regularly pursues additional knowledge to allow her to continue to serve clients with the most timely and practical information available by participating in multiple conferences and seminars in a wide range of financial disciplines annually. She is also an active member of the following professional associations: the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the Financial Planning Association (FPA), and the Northern Virginia Estate Planning Council. Carolyn currently serves on the board of the local NAPFA study group.

Carolyn lives in the Mount Vernon area of Alexandria with her husband Michael and her sons Jacob (age 14) and Daniel (age 12). Her children fill all her spare time that is not consumed by LWPM. However, after they are grown she intends to resume her interests in throwing pottery and songwriting. Right now her life is full with a wonderful family and a terrific business!
