Spring is almost here, and it is a great time to schedule a health checkup with your doctor. With the recent announcement of Alex Trebek’s illness and Luke Perry’s sudden death, we are reminded of our own health issues. We at Lifetime Wealth have had several clients who are also battling health issues and dealing with the impact it has had on their lives, their families, and their finances. Regular health exams and tests can help find problems before they start. They also can help find problems early, when your chances for treatment and cure are better. A regular health checkup can determine the exams and screenings you may need for any further diagnosis. Which exams and screenings will depend on your age, health, family history, and lifestyle choices, such as what you eat, how active you are, and whether you smoke.
To make the most of your next checkup, here are some things to do before you go:
- Review your family medical history
- Find out if you are due for any general screenings or vaccinations
- Write down a list of issues and questions to take with you
Remember, early detection is key to saving your life. While no one likes going to the doctor, we have found an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
